Alice Hendrickson has traveled to eastern Turkey on several travel trips over more than twenty years. As he traveled through towns, villages, rural areas and mountains, he observed and witnessed the lives of the people living there. He painted the landscapes he saw during his trip and the mostly Kurdish residents he encountered. He turned the drawings depicting daily life he made during the trip into engraving prints during the winter months. This book is a compilation of those images.

For twenty years or more Alice Hendrickson has traveled throughout the eastern region of Turkey. While roaming through towns, villages, countryside, and mountains she observed the lives of the people living there. She painted the landscapes and drew the inhabitants, who were mostly Kurds, as she wandered. In the winter she transformed the drawings into woodcut prints depicting the daily life she had witnessed. This book is a collection of those images.
