On a hot summer day, a man named Dimitrios Katsikas from the city of Larisa in Greece comes to the land of fairy chimneys. This young man wanted to follow the footsteps of his grandparents, who were forced to migrate from these lands years ago, and visit these beautiful places in place of his relatives who could never return here. Coincidences bring him across Aziz Güzelgöz, nicknamed "Father", one of the popular figures of the region. These two young people of the same age quickly bond. When Dimitrios is a guest at Aziz's house, he meets an incredible man in this fascinating land. This person is Aziz's father, Mustafa Güzelgöz; Also known as the Donkey Librarian.

He was given this name because he carried books to the people of more than thirty villages on his donkey while managing the library in Ürgüp. Mustafa Güzelgöz has struggled for years for everyone, especially women, to read books.

The bridge of love between Dimitrios and the Donkey Librarian becomes stronger and stronger as they travel around the region together. Meanwhile, blood brothers Aziz and Dimitrios came up with the idea of making Ürgüp and Larisa “sister cities”. But it won't be that easy...

In this last novel of Fakir Baykurt's, which he wrote in his sick bed, taking advantage of all the possibilities of the classical narration, until he could afford it, even until it ran out, he focused on love, brotherhood, perseverance and courage. Emotions once again surround the reader. ;                                   bsp ;                                   bsp ;                                   bsp ;                                    bsp ;
