"Why do people believe that their ancestors were wolves, onions, moons, or even ordinary inanimate objects? Why are plants, animals, celestial bodies, etc. personified? Why do Tikopians burn their blankets, why do Australian spolia men inflict severe wounds on their genitals and other parts of their bodies? A man touching a woman's basket Why are women banned from touching a man's bow? Why do capitalists worship snow? Why do people beat their backs with chains? Why are some animals and plants forbidden to be eaten? You think they were born with these beliefs. They carry out their actions according to beliefs that they have no doubt are reality itself, they organize in accordance with it, and they live accordingly.
