Sekizinci Gün
"When I began writing The Eighth Day in the summer of 1999, I knew exactly what the book would be like: a devastating attack on America's capital, Washington, by an al-Qaeda cell armed with a deadly new weapon of mass destruction."
When Glenn Meade wrote The Eighth Day before the September 11 attacks, he revealed a reality that could happen, a reality that would bring much more disaster and death. After the attacks, although he changed the name of the leader in his novel, Osama bin Laden, the publishing house refused to publish the book. The author would explain this reaction by saying, "Because the novel is very close to reality."
The Eighth Day is the product of meticulous work and significant effort. While it reveals many details about the attacks of an extreme Islamic organization, it also discusses the reasons why American security is inadequate.
