The proposition that people think the way they live is accepted as a general judgment in explaining individual-society relations. However, the "path" and "state" of Erdem Baba's life turn this general acceptance upside down. Because he lived the way he thought, adhering to the confession he made in the assemblies of truth. In other words, Erdem Baba is a seeker of truth who walks a "path" in the universe of faith that suits the world of the heart.

Erdem Baba is also an important musical performer of the truthist school. Erdem Baba unquestionably has an important role in transferring the "truthful sayings", which we call classical today and which have a unique place in Anatolian musical culture, to the present day. Erdem Baba, who has a wide repertoire of idioms in his strong memory, tries to perform the works of many Alevi bards - within traditional patterns, while preserving the local dialect.

This study has been prepared for publication with an objective approach, away from value judgment. Because we tried to present each topic we discussed, without removing it from its historical context, by giving examples from the sayings and breaths of the road leaders. The judgment of the subjective evaluations we make unconsciously belongs to us and is devoid of knowledge of the truth.

This work, which was created with a collective spirit and intense effort, will achieve its goal to the extent that it supports the efforts to keep alive, promote and understand Erdem Baba and his philosophy of truth. Its contribution to research and expansions regarding Alevism will be a reward for our efforts.
