Euthyphron
Plato is undoubtedly one of the most important and influential philosophers in the history of thought. He contributed to the institutionalization of philosophy and the formation of the written tradition in philosophy, and was the initiator of the idealist philosophy tradition that would determine the entire medieval thought with its two-world metaphysics. Plato, who is also important in terms of his influence on Christian medieval philosophy and Islamic thought, addressed all the problems discussed throughout the history of thought hundreds of years ago and built the first major philosophical system.
Euthyphro is an important work that both presents a slice of Socrates' life and allows us to have an idea about his philosophy and method. It forms a trio with Socrates' Defense and Crito. The dialogue begins with Socrates meeting at the institution where he came, just before his trial, to receive notification of the accusation attributed to him, and Euthyphro to sue his father, who unintentionally caused the death of his slave.
While Socrates meets the accusations of atheism made against him by Euthyphro calmly, as always, he reveals the issue of what is related to religion and what is non-religious by making Euthyphro talk with his famous refutation method.
