First and Middle Generation Kurdish Leaders and Intellectuals

It is important and necessary to convey the struggle experiences of a nation and the biographies of the people who took part in this struggle to the next generations for the development of national consciousness. Just like Kurdish history, we do not know enough about the Kurdish leaders and intellectuals who took part in the Kurdish national struggle.

Kurdish leaders and intellectuals were sometimes brave and fearless ; sometimes they were discouraged, pessimistic, and hopeless . Sometimes they were deceived, misled , and regretted what they had done; sometimes they were helpless due to circumstances. In various processes, Kurdish leaders and intellectuals were always the first target of the enemy. The list of Kurdish leaders and intellectuals who fought under the sword is also a list of exiles and deaths.

This book is not just a list of biographies; it evaluates the people on the list in categories and examines the periods in which they lived.

It includes 3 people from the “ Pioneer Generation ” category, 44 from the “ First Generation ” category between 1890-1920 (5 groups within itself), 22 from the “ Second Generation ” category between 1920-1938, 37 from the “ Third Generation-Middle Generation ” (48 and 58 Generation) category between 1940-1960, 34 from the other four parts of Kurdistan (4 groups within itself), 7 from the “Women” category and 148 people whose birth dates were up to 1940, 11 of whom are still living, including İsmail Beşikçi.
