Fragments from a Love Discourse

The language we use when we are in love is very different from the language we always speak; because it is directed only towards ourselves and the lover of our dreams. That's exactly why it is the language of loneliness, actually the language of love... Nowadays, this loneliness is also added to the loneliness that comes from being confined to the margins of society: Many people still fall in love, the discourse of love still continues, whereas society talks about sexuality with enthusiasm, but looks at the discourse of love with ridicule. In this anatomy of desire book written by Roland Barthes based on the main love texts of literature, there are those waits, appointments, letters, falling in love for the sake of falling in love, "I love you to death", arguments, suicide threats, leaving and getting back together, which everyone who is in love knows well. These pieces, in which the author recreates the discourse of love with concepts and associations, show what kind of "passion" "love" is, perhaps in the old meaning of the word that is now slowly receding from our world.
