While writing this book, I followed my characters to the most impressive cafes, beautiful balconies and beloved views of Paris. On this trip, I climbed the steps of Montmartre, admired the colorful views in the Rue de Cler market, and sipped espresso in hidden cafes in the small side streets. They were all unforgettable.

But this story goes deeper than chocolate croissants and the Eiffel Tower on a spring day. The pages of this story deal with heartaches and traumas in the war-torn Paris of the 1940s. Nowadays, characters who are able or unable to resist, forgive and love.

This book is my love letter to Paris. And maybe one day, I'll write another letter. For now, I hope you enjoy this story, the characters, and everything about Paris that I dreamed of, down to the smallest detail.

Lotus flowers go through heartbreaking journeys. Its seeds germinate in murky swamp water covered with soil, debris and tangled roots. In order for them to bloom, they must find their way through this terrible darkness, knowing deep down that there is sunlight somewhere above the water, or at least hoping for it. Thus, it emerges from this journey unscathed and blooms victoriously.

A woman who finds all the pain of Paris in herself while waiting for all the flowers of Paris in the occupied Paris of the 1940s... Another woman who follows another woman's past in order to face her own pain and past in the nostalgic atmosphere and brightness of Paris, the City of Light in the 2000s. a woman...

With her unique gripping style, Sarah Jio reminds us of the important things in life by building a bridge between the past and the present with strong female characters who are two water lilies sunk deep in murky waters in this novel.
