In his previous works, Orhan Türker took us to the Greek-dominated districts of multinational Ottoman Istanbul, such as Kurtulus, Samatya, Adalar and Galata, which had largely lost these features today but preserved their traditional social and ethnic structure until the mid-20th century, and revealed the radical changes that took place in the recent past. It was sermis. Now it's time for Edirnekapi, another forgotten Byzantine district.

Although the Greek presence never showed superiority over the Turkish population after the first century after the Conquest, Edirnekapi was a region where Turks and Greeks or Muslims and Christians lived side by side until the mid-20th century. Unfortunately, it eventually shared the same fate as other ancient Greek districts, and the Greek population melted away after the 1960s.

Today, this secluded district of Ottoman Istanbul is becoming a center of attraction with the Byzantine and Ottoman architectural structures it contains within its borders.

Pili tells the story of a forgotten Byzantine district from Adrianopleos to Edirnekapi.
