Ares took his place on a hill overlooking the plain. He was riding on a shiny chariot. Flames were gushing from the mouths and noses of the horses harnessed to the cart. The god wore a bronze armor with the terrible Gorgo head, a helmet covering his temples and nose, a long spear and a sword hanging from his waist, giving him an even more majestic appearance than he actually was. Next to the god of war was a large group of his assistants. Phobos, meaning "fear", and Daimos, meaning "horror", were slowly waving the sharp sickles in their hands. Their facial features were not visible because of the hoods of their robes; However, their bony hands, resembling those of a skeleton, revealed most clearly what kind of creatures they were... When Ares decided that the time had come, he drew the sword from his waist, raised it into the air and let out a terrible shout.
