Good People Are Hard to Find includes ten stories by Flannery O'Connor, one of the most interesting names of twentieth-century American literature and who produced successful works within the movement called "southern gothic". In these stories, where an eerie atmosphere prevails, the unpleasant but real aspects of human nature are revealed. Many of O'Connor's characters are too disturbing to sympathize with, but that's exactly what makes them interesting. ABOUT THE AUTHOR: He was born in 1925 in Georgia, USA. He died in 1964 as a result of lupus tuberculosis. The stories he wrote during the thirteen years he struggled with his illness were collected in two books. The first of these, It's Hard to Find Good People, was published in 1955, while the other (Everything That Rises Must Converge) was published in 1965 after his death. Apart from his short stories, he also wrote two novels titled Wise Blood (1952) and The Violent Bear It Away (1960).
