- The fact that the language of science during the period of Ebul-Iz Cezeri was Arabic and that he wrote his magnificent work in this language is not a sign of his being an Arab. The fact that he worked in the Artuqid Palace does not show that he was Turkish. There are many important figures from different nationalities who served in different palaces on various occasions in different periods of history. Just as people such as Mola Gürani, İbnul Cezerî and Şeyhülislam Ebu Suud Efendi were originally Kurds and served in the Ottoman Palace, Ebul-İz Cezeri also served in the Artuqid Palace. Therefore, working in a foreign palace is not proof that that person comes from that ethnic origin. Anyway, “Cezeri” means Cizreli.
