Ernest HEMINGWAY, one of the leading writers of our time, was born near Chicago in 1899. His father was a doctor. After Hemingway graduated from secondary school, he started working at the newspaper called the Kansas City Star. He participated in the First World War voluntarily. In 1918, he was injured while fighting in the Italian army and left the front and settled in Paris. Hemingway, who received great support from Ezra Pound here, first wrote the novels "The Sun Also Rises" and "A Farewell to Arms". A Farewell to Arms brought great fame to the author. This was followed by "The Green Hills of Africa", which tells about his hunting adventures. Heminhway, who participated in the Spanish Civil War like many artists of the period, published his powerful novel "For Whom the Bell Tolls?", about this war, in 1940. He published (For Whom the Bell Tolls). This novel was soon adapted into a movie. "The Old Man and the Sea", which he wrote in 1952, made the great writer famous. This success was followed by the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1953. It was not known for certain whether the author, who died after being shot with a hunting rifle in 1961, committed suicide or had an accident. Hemingway often went hunting in Africa during his years in Europe. In his own country, he was interested in all types of hunting, including fishing; He lived mostly in places where he could hunt; Then he told these with beautiful stories.
