In Pursuit of the Literary Father Book Description

Harold Bloom claims that the history of poetry should be read as the history of the struggles of successor poets to get rid of the influences of their predecessors. Commenting on how successor poets try to cope with the influences of their predecessors with the concept he calls "anxiety of influence", Harold Bloom states that all poets who desire originality have to struggle with their predecessor poets. Ahmet Haşim, one of the few poets who see originality as a way of existence in modern Turkish poetry, has strived throughout his life to remain a unique artist. The psychological factor that gives rise to such an effort is "anxiety of influence". Ahmet Haşim, who turned to Western poets to escape the influence of poets in his own tradition from the first moment he started his poetry adventure, shows in some of his writings that he chose predecessors from another world instead of his predecessors in Turkish poetry, acting with a feeling guided by the "anxiety of influence". Ahmet Haşim, who appropriated the poetic thoughts of Western poets such as Verhaeren, Régnier and Mallarmé, tries to show that he was not influenced by the Turkish poets who came before him. This attitude of his is actually a product of hiding the influences coming from Turkish poetry.

Gundi-Shapur Academy Bringing the historical events and ancient cultural depths of past ages to our time is, of course, a matter of excitement. In the book, the coincidence of Hellenistic thought with the first period of Islam, especially those related to medicine, is not focused on and has gained a special status almost only through the history of science and the personal efforts of Orientologists. Gundi-Shapur Academy, one of the interesting aspects of this event, has become a truly mysterious name. The book in your hand; While telling the story of this academy, it takes us back thousands of years and gives us the enthusiasm to learn about the dimensions and functional adventure of intellectual existence, as mysterious and fascinating as its name. They are included in the book as intertwined rings of medicine, theology (science of the earth), especially philosophy and history. The most important aspect of the work is the entry of Aristotle's thought (philosophy) into the East before Islam. However, we witness the origin of the academy as a station for processing and disseminating this idea. Gundi-Shapur Academy is among the first academies of Eastern Mesopotamia, founded during the time of Shabur I (and his lineage), one of the Persian Kings. Our publishing house had previously carefully translated the Urfa Academy, Antakya Academy and Nusaybin Academy into Turkish in this series of ancient academies and presented them to our cultural world. Although he put Gundi-Shapur Academy on his agenda years ago, and even though he announced to his readers many times that it would be "coming out soon", the weight of work prolonged this process. Even though we are late, we share the joy of presenting another book in the academy series.
