Haci Aga walked around the garden, tapping his walking stick, as he always did. After observing everything with his sharp eyes, he gave the household a nice look. After scolding him, he took his thin camel hair cloak from the bed and swayed through the long and dark hall and reached the bowl. Then he went straight across the hall and sat on the cushion on the sofa. He cleared his throat and pulled the skirt of his shirt over his knees. His hairy and chubby ankles, which were between the wide leg of his salwar and his dirty shoes, disappeared for a while under the fabric of his abaya. The bowl was watered and cleaned, but since the neighbors emptied the mud accumulated in the pool into the canal running down the street, the inside of the bowl was filled with a strong odor...
