This book deals with the cultural-artistic leap that took place due to the great cultural concentration that emerged in Turkey between 1954 and 1957 and its meeting with the left in the mid-1960s. He calls this leap, which appeared for a short period in the second half of the 1960s and disappeared before it even had a chance to be defined, the "Hidden Renaissance".

Although the study begins by examining the transition from subjective criticism to objective criticism in the 1950s, it focuses on the magazines that shaped the left literary movements in the 1960s. It is argued that the legacy of the left art/literature movements, which started with the Doğuş Manifesto published in 1964 and continued with the magazines Devinim, Yordam and Halkın Dostları, formed a line by merging with the Literature Dostları magazine in the second half of the 1980s and the Art Movement in the early 1990s, despite the interrupted processes. progress.

Saklı Rönesans, the first and only review/research book about the literary movements of the 1960-1970 period, tries to read the literature of the 1960s through Hüseyin Cöntürk and İsmet Özel, two names that symbolize the period. At the same time, it comes with the claim that the young poets of the 1960-1970 period started a poetry movement called 'Young 60 Poetry', which was assimilated and lost before it could be identified and named.

With the new texts added to the second edition, the book examines the conditions that led to the "Hidden Renaissance" in more detail and, in the light of all this information, offers the opportunity to evaluate, at least to some extent, the adventure of cultural and artistic practices from the 1980s to the present day. It tries to reveal how the upward trend, which started in the 1950s and reached its peak in the second half of the 1960s, turned into a trend of decline, religiousization and reactionism in the 1980s, especially with the 1989 Universal Counter-revolution.
