History
History includes Herodotus' investigations into the origins of the Greco-Persian Wars. Herodotus begins his work by discussing the strengthening of Lydia, continues with the Medes' conquest of Lydia, and describes the Persians' expeditions to Egypt, Scythia and finally Greece after subduing the Medes. After describing the Greco-Persian Wars, which took place between 490-479 BC, in full detail, one by one, he ends his narrative with the withdrawal of the Persians to Asia Minor. It not only conveys historical events, but also provides us with extremely rich geographical and ethnographic material. Herodotus particularly emphasizes that he did not personally witness most of the events he mentioned, and that he merely conveyed them to the reader as they were told to him.
