History of Ahlat Ayyubids
It is not right to see the Ayyubid dynasty, which played an active role in the Islamic world for nearly a hundred years, as consisting only of Sultan Saladin Yusuf and to identify the state with him. The Ayyebids, who took over the country of Ahlat from the Sökmenli at the beginning of the 13th century, established the branch known as the Ayyubids of Ahlat there and spread their dominance over large regions in a short time through this branch. In this study, the sovereignty areas of the Ahlat Ayyubids, who constituted the northern wing of the Ayyubid State, who raised thousands of heroes to defend Islam and Muslims, were examined. The dominance of the Great Ayyubid State in Ahlat and its surroundings, which ensured the Islamic unity in Egypt, Syria, Yemen, Libya, Jordan and al-Jazeera, the relations of the Anatolian Seljuks, the Khwarezmians, the Ayyubids with neighboring states such as Georgia, the architectural works of the Ayyubids in Ahlat and its surroundings and the cultural and civilizational history of the region. Their contributions constitute the main subjects of the present study.
