Islamic domination in Andalusia began in 711 with the entry of the Umayyad army under the leadership of the great commander Tariq bin Ziyad into Spain. For 800 years; Umayyad Governors, Umayyad Emirs, Umayyad Caliphs, Hammudids, Tavâif-i Mülûk, Almoravids, Almohads and finally Many scholars such as Muhyiddin ibni Arabî, Ibn Rushd, Ibn Bâce, Zerkâli were educated in these lands where the Granada Benî Ahmer Islamic State ruled. This magnificent civilization, which changed the course of Medieval Europe and even the world, was destroyed in 1492 by demolishing all its libraries and burning all the books that kept the civilization alive. Ziya Pasha, who was pro-Western, innovative, and among the pioneers of Tanzimat Literature, who defended freedoms and constitutionalism during his period, wrote the History of Andalusia. He wrote his book because the important accumulations of Muslims in Andalusia had not been the subject of any work until then. However, since the written information about this civilization was burned by Christians and the existing sources were written by members of two opposite religions, it became very difficult to distinguish between right and wrong. Despite this, Ziya Pasha prepared this work, which was published in 4 volumes, with the intention of conveying the information given by some impartial European historians and ensuring that the Ottoman people could benefit from the knowledge of this civilization. According to him, Andalusia is a geography that should definitely be investigated, but was far from it in terms of politics and civilization. At the time when the work was published, most writers. It attracted the poet's attention and revived interest in both the history of Andalusian Muslims and their science, culture and civilization, which were a part of the Islamic tradition that lasted for centuries. The History of Andalusia, prepared by Ziya Pasha by compiling various French and Arabic history books and presenting the literary taste of his period with great richness, was simplified and prepared for publication as a result of a painstaking work by Yasemin Çiçek, an expert in the field of Ottoman Turkish.
