'After the English Revolution in the seventeenth century and the American and French Revolutions in the eighteenth century, the bourgeois-based freedom and equality movement changed the world. Although the concept of freedom was initially denounced by governments and feudal and absolutist political theorists as utopian and destructive nonsense, it became the central principle of all political organizations and ideologies. The working class transformed this call for freedom from a political slogan into a social demand. After the industrial revolution, this demand was carried out on behalf of all humanity, including not only the white race, but also the vast majority facing the colonial expansion and oppression of industrial capitalism.
