  • In this book, the history of Kurdistan, which is the permanent living space and historical homeland of the Kurds, one of the most ancient nations of Western Asia, is discussed with such a holistic approach for the first time. Its chronological framework covers the period from the Arab conquests to the present day. Kurds, who have taken part in almost all major events in the region, have made a significant contribution to the regional and world civilization. Today, the Kurdish people of 30 million are struggling hard for the right to self-determination, and the Kurdish issue remains one of the most current problems of contemporary international life. This study was carried out under the leadership of the Kurdish Studies Center (President, Academician of the Armenian Academy of Sciences Ş.X. Mıhoyan). The authors of the study consist of employees of the Kurdology Department of the Oriental Studies Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Kurdology Chair of the Saint-Petersburg Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The introduction is by MS Lazarev, the first and second parts are by E.I. Vasilyeva, the third and fourth chapters by MS Lazarev, the fifth by MA Gasratyan, the sixth by O.I. Jigalina, seventh and eighth chapters Ş.X. Mykhoyan and the conclusion were written by MS Lazarev. While writing the introduction, O.İ. Jigalina's materials, in the fifth chapter, MS Lazarev and Ş.X.
