History of Power 3 Book Description The 3rd volume of Michael Mann's History of Power series, in which he traces the four historical sources of the network of power relations that surround societies, focuses on the period between 1914 and 1945, when the world turned into a fire and two world wars took place. Mann argues that this period of time, which represents one of the turning points in history, is not radically different from the periods he discussed in the first two volumes and should not be seen as an island in turmoil in the middle of a calm sea.
