I'm Looking For My Childhood

My brother Servet would leave home and go to Muş every autumn in autumn, and come home at the beginning of summer the next year. We could only stay with my brother for two and a half or three months every year. When he came home at the beginning of the summer, he brought many notebooks, books, pens and papers with him. Since the school was not yet built in our village, my brother was going to the Regional Boarding School like the children in the other village. My mother didn't want us to touch my brother's belongings. He even left it out of our reach. After my mother dropped off her belongings, which she had secured herself, we, the siblings, would search to unload her belongings. Sometimes we would climb on the chair, sometimes we would leave the beds and reach there, sometimes we would lift one by one and unload and unpack my brother's belongings. Our search was all out of curiosity. When we unloaded the belongings, one of us would keep watch so as not to be seen by our mother, and the others would open books or notebooks and look at them. We didn't know what was written in the book when we looked at it. Most of our curiosity was directed towards the photographs in the book.
