This story by Deniz Faruk Zeren calls us to the slope of our broken dreams. To the side of the dreams we have built while sitting among the hay bales, rotten apples and lettuce leaves. For a moment we feel like a drifting autumn leaf, hoping to land in a beautiful courtyard. We push the wooden door of the house next door and go inside. Then we sit and drink tea under the beautiful vine in the middle of the courtyard, its arms reaching all the way to the roof, its wide green, fresh leaves waiting to be picked. Below there is a silent stream flowing between the rocks, decreasing and increasing. The soil is stirring in a deep place where the plain thins and bends with a deep curve, turns inward and extends upwards, where small and large mounds, hills and slopes set traps for the eyes and deceive them.
