Sheikh Bedreddin lived six hundred years before today. As one of the greatest thinkers of the period, he put forward bold ideas that were far beyond his time and expressed a strong longing for social justice and freedom. In order to achieve his goal, he brought together and educated oppressed Turkish, Greek and Jewish workers. The most important peasant uprising in Anatolian history against Ottoman rule was named after him. I am also Halimce Bedreddine, a documentary novel of this great people's movement. Soviet writer Radiy Fiş, who focuses on Turkish and Ottoman history, meticulously examined all the documents that survived from the period of the uprising and created a detailed picture of the period.
