Illuminated House
A summer day. A middle-aged man on the deck of a ferry passing from England to Europe is on his way to have a holiday on the Rhine after his divorce from his wife. The route is clear. Hotel reservations have been made. Everything is planned. He meets a passenger on the ferry. He agrees to drop his new friend off at his house on the road. As he was about to leave the ferry with his rented car, his guest next to him asked, "Do you sometimes get the feeling that something is going to go wrong?" he asks.
In this journey where he will review and question his entire life, childhood and relationships, the story of the man who remains indifferent to his surroundings and is only preoccupied with himself resembles the story of a moth wandering around a flytrap plant. In the languor of a summer holiday, at the Hellhaus (Illuminated House- Hotel) where he stays, a fate unfolds, told with a melancholy reminiscent of Virginia Woolf and strung with fine details.
