İntibah - Book Description in Today's Turkish We are always obliged to be subject to all the rules that European languages choose in terms of literature and the style of imitation they prefer. Because both the rules regarding that whole and that style of imitation are not some dreams arising from Europe's eager fears, but they are pure truth and the direction of nature. Namık Kemal İntibah is generally defined as a work with psychological and partly social content, built around the themes of love and jealousy. These and similar topics were also discussed in masnavis and folk tales in previous periods in Turkish literature. However, Namık Kemal, in the name of the "authentic literature" he defended, tried to differentiate himself from the past as much as possible with his analysis and descriptions, and tried to handle some of the emotions in question not in an imaginary way, unlike the old ones, but in a human and realistic plan. Abdullah Uçman We present Intibah, one of the firsts of our literature, adapted to today's Turkish, together with Namık Kemal's "Preface to the Last Regret", which he wrote as an introduction to the novel but did not have it published.
