Invitation to Reflexive Sociology Book Description Pierre Bourdieu, one of the names that left his mark on the world of contemporary social science, continues to influence researchers from various disciplines around the world with his works that vary greatly in terms of the fields he examines. This book, which provides an overview of Bourdieu's sociology, consists of three main parts: Loïc Wacquant, In the first chapter, Bourdieu evaluates the structure and logic of his sociology in a neat but extremely in-depth manner. In the second chapter, Bourdieu gives an accounting of his intellectual adventure as a sociologist in his interview with Wacquant. He explains his works and the basic concepts he uses - structure, field, strategy, habitus, cultural capital, interest, illusio, symbolic power - in as simple and understandable a language as possible. While he answers the criticisms directed at him by pointing out the reasons for misunderstandings about his works, he also provides a general view of the field of social sciences. It also clearly reveals its unique position in this field. The third part of the book consists of the lectures Bourdieu gave at a research seminar he held with graduate students. In this section, Bourdieu starts from practice and reaches epistemological principles while transferring his understanding of research to students. At the end of the book, it is possible to find two reading route suggestions and an extensive bibliography about Bourdieu's works, again written by Wacquant. Invitation to Reflexive Sociology, which is the revised and expanded version of the book whose first edition in Turkish was published under the name Answers for a Reflexive Anthropology, serves as an excellent introduction to Bourdieu's works.
