Kabul ile Red Arasında İslamî Feminizm
Islamic Feminism; It is the first time for many people, whether religious or secular. In the encounter, memorization is evaluated as a concept that contradicts the influence of the teachings . Therefore, the title “Islamic Feminism Between Acceptance and Rejection” is not accidental. Because of its position, it is neither "feminist" enough in the eyes of Western secular feminist movements; nor is it sufficiently “Islamic” in the eyes of traditional Muslims. The existence of Islamic Feminism, a critical movement, its emergence, areas of innovation and demands for jurisprudence are due to the anti-woman, masculine mentality of Muslim societies surrounding Muslim women. In other words, Islamic Feminism emerged as a critical reaction to the pressures that women are subjected to in practical terms, socially and humanely, in Muslim societies today. Prof. Dr. This work, which Kadri Yıldırım has been working on for a long time; It is a compilation of the works and research of nearly 40 pioneering Islamic feminists from various countries, who can be described as moderate or radical with their views . These works are predominantly in Arabic or translated into Arabic; A few of them are in Persian and English. The work focuses on interpretations, fiqh practices and superstitious hadiths that undermine the reputation of women and contains plenty of examples in these areas; Concepts that are the subject of social life and law, such as "polygamy", "concubinage", "dominance of men over women", "witnessing", "right to divorce", "inheritance", which are the center of discussions especially between traditional Muslims and secularists, are mentioned in the Quran and Authentic Sunnah. As a result, it does not hesitate to criticize and overthrow wrong interpretations and practices . Although Islamic Feminism, which emerged on the stage of history at the end of the 20th century, is still considered new in Turkey, we come across some intellectual and social reflections. The study, which includes some of these examples, is a first in its field.
