Kiraze-Hardcover Book
'Kiraze' presents a century-long slice of the painful life struggle of thousands of Sephardic Jews who were expelled from Spain in 1492. Some of these people went to the Netherlands, some to North Africa, and some to World War II. They were seeking to reach Ottoman lands upon the invitation of Beyazid. Most of them perished in the cruel hands of the Inquisition or in misery on the roads before they even set out. Estler Kira (also known as Kiraze) was the daughter of a Sephardic Jew who survived severe persecution and managed to reach Istanbul. In a short time, with his ambition, intelligence and charm, he managed to be at the forefront of the Jews who deeply influenced the Ottoman palace. First he gained the close attention of Hürrem Sultan, and then he became Safiye Sultan's mentor and confidant. Because he knew what power, wealth and power meant. But a sipahi rebellion that broke out when he was 88 years old was the end of everything.
While this novel sheds light on the experiences of Sephardic Jews, it shows how the Ottoman and European palaces influenced and controlled religious, political and social life at that time, and it deeply shakes the reader. , paints a magnificent picture.
