Kizilbash Alevi Renaissance

This study examines and discusses the developments of the Kizilbash Alevi society, faith and identity struggle in the last half century. He identifies and describes the historical process in question as the Kizilbas Alevi Renaissance. It deals with the social, political and religious dimensions of the identity struggle, and tries to present a collective picture of the political development moments of the Democratic Alevi Movement by discussing the historical and current aspects of the Alevi problem. Reconstruction of identity and belief and identity reform, which is another facet of the Kizilbash Alevi Renaissance, are also analyzed and discussed.

A comprehensive and adequate examination of the Kizilbas Alevi Renaissance and the process it is going through has not been made so far. Its place and importance in the development of the Kızılbaş Alevi society and identity was not understood. This period has not been properly examined on scientific grounds, both in its historical and current context.

For this very reason, when explaining Kızılbaş Alevism, we base ourselves on a three-way dialogue between the past, today and tomorrow. While evaluating events and facts, we look through the mirror of today's economic, social, political, cultural and religious life and through the window of changes and transformations.
