Kon-Tiki
The story of an extraordinary journey that lasted 101 days in the Pacific Ocean... Norwegian anthropologist Thor Heyerdahl believed that the first people to settle in the Polynesian Islands came from Peru, crossing the ocean under the leadership of the legendary hero Kon-Tiki. In order to prove his thesis against those who said that such a journey was impossible at that time, the author set out in 1947 with his five friends on a primitive raft he made from balsa tree logs and named Kon-Tiki.
This adventure, accompanied by angry storms, whales, sharks and many other dangers, ended successfully three months later on the Raroia coral island.
You will read a striking example of courage and fighting spirit in Kon-Tiki, which has been translated into sixty-five languages to date and was adapted into a movie and nominated for an Oscar.
