Making the “Kurdish Republic of Mehabad” the subject of historical study and learning from this experience is also a problem of method. There are dozens of studies on this subject. Our claim was to approach the 1945/46 Rojhilat Revolution process with the Marxist method. Therefore, by starting from this method, our aim was to overcome the liberal and narrow nationalist approaches (by overcome we do not mean a wholesale rejection, but taking the forward aspects and overcoming the backward aspects and establishing a new synthesis) and to cleanse this history of their concepts and categories and to put reality in its place.
The 1945/46 revolution process was followed by the international public mainly through news, articles and interviews written by American, British and French journalists and diplomats. The bourgeois liberal perspective of American diplomats and writers W. Aegleton and Roosevelt Jr. led to the dominance of concepts and categories in the literature of this history. We can say that these two diplomats and writers, who wrote regularly for newspapers and magazines at the time and later turned into books, were decisive in the formation of the literature on the subject, with a few exceptions.
Rojhilat has once again entered the world agenda as the place where the fuse of the Iranian popular uprising in 2022 was ignited and as it showed more organized and qualified participation in the uprising. The motto “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi” has become the common motto of the whole of Iran. With the self-defense against state attacks and the revolutionary authority prevailing for a few days, the name Mehabat has once again taken its place in the bulletins of international agencies.
