  • In the book titled Kurds: Historical and Social Investigation, published by the Ottoman Muhacirin Directorate-i Umumisi (Ottoman General Directorate of Immigrant Affairs) as the first state publication about the Kurds in 1918, the author was Doctor Friç and the translator from German to Turkish was Habil Adem. Later investigations showed that the author and translator of the book, whose real name is Naci İsmail (Pelister), was an Ottoman National Police officer and a Unionist of Albanian origin. This first Turkish version of the book, which offers clues about the intellectual structure of the period in which it was written, beyond the history of the Kurds, is presented to the reader with the evaluation articles of Suavi Aydın and İsmail Beşikçi.
