Contrary to popular belief, Konya Desert's acquaintance with Kurdishness is very old. The Archer Kurds of the Persian army, who discovered Konya, were followed over time by the jihadist Kurds in the Islamic Army, and later by the Kurds of Sivas and the Lek Kurds of the Eastern Taurus during the Seljuk period. These people, including the Kurds who came to the vicinity of Konya in the early periods of the Ottoman Empire, mixed with the other peoples of this ancient desert and disappeared. Ruhi Su, Yılmaz Güney, Yaşar Kaya, Cemşid Bender are some of them.

In short, throughout history, Konya maintains its current status as a building block of Kurdish history far from Kurdistan, just like in ancient times.
