Arshak Poladyan was one of the first to conduct serious studies on the origins of the Kurds and their history in the centuries after Islam. In this study, which he published in Russian under the title of “Kurds According to Arab Sources in the 7th-10th Centuries”, which is a part of his doctoral thesis, the scattered information about the Kurds in early Arab historical and geographical sources was classified and evaluated.
