Leyla and Mecnun
The Masnavi of Leyla and Mecnun, which is the first thing that comes to mind when it comes to love and is the subject of various books and movies, is not only the masterpiece of Fuzuli, the most lyrical poet of our literature, but also one of the greatest love masnavis.
Although this love, which is built by not being able to meet the beloved, seems to describe worldly love, it is nourished by Sufi elements and eventually reaches the love of God and reveals the belief in vahdet-i vücud (unity of existence). Unlike most of the other love masnavis, lovers cannot meet and death is the place where this love reaches its completion.
