Life As It Is
Krikor Zohrab, one of the leading writers, lawyers and politicians of his period, discusses Ottoman society from different aspects in this book consisting of eleven stories.
The author, who is adept at presenting "life as it is", subjects male-female relations, the conflict between urban and rural life, and Ottoman Armenian social life, which is going through a new process, into a sharp analysis. While Zohrab transcends the boundaries of the community and sheds light on the problems of all humanity, he enriches his literature with his multi-layered experiences as a lawyer, parliamentarian and storyteller, revealing his understanding of literature, realism, high perception and reasoning power.
