Madam Bovary
Love is sometimes a hot suicide.
Madame Bovary is a woman who pursues her dreams with the desire to be someone other than herself and is never satisfied with what she has. This woman, who always aims high, has extramarital affairs without paying attention to the customs and traditions of her time, builds her life on lies, ignores her children, shops like crazy at the expense of going into debt, but is still not satisfied. Because of this lifestyle of Emma Bovary, the novel was met with great interest when it was published, but she was sued by the authorities of the time, claiming that it was immoral and irreligious, but she was acquitted.
Madame Bovary, one of the first and most important examples of the Realist movement, considered among the best novels of all time; It inspired Tolstoy, Proust, Tanpinar, Saul Below and many other writers.
