“I am talking about destroying, because many people and tendencies, generally referred to with adjectives such as 'progressive', 'pioneering', 'avant-garde', have expressed arguments that cannot discard the old ones, and even use them as a repository of wisdom to justify the contemporary. After all, this is all a kind of zombie production. This book is an effort to identify and discuss those zombies, those living dead. “I use the term anarchy because I want to problematize the dominant power structures, discourses, prejudices, stereotypes and beliefs in the field of architectural knowledge. I believe they form very weak thought constructions. They paradoxically owe their power to those weaknesses. These are believed, convinced and continue to engage in discursive and/or conceptual practices recklessly. If faith were to be abandoned, the entire intellectual construction would be undermined and left groundless. “My much more important target is the totalitarianism hidden in architectural discourses. In most texts on architectural thought, a totalitarian expectation that the world can be made a paradise with the personal skill of the architect is mentioned, and most of the time, this is not disturbed at all. Such a belief actually carries water to the channel that extends to the uncontrolled real power of the political authority, rather than the imagined power of the designing subject. It reveals the possibilities of legitimizing dictatorial claims. I can also say that the distance between the architect's design power and the political administrator's social engineering power is very short. “Both long for a dictatorship intended to be established over society.” -Uğur Tanyeli-
