The Martyr Rising from His Grave, which Hüseyin Rahmi calls "my favorite novel", tells the story of a materialistic young man's struggle with urban legends. Tired of Istanbul's daily life and political debates, Sevki goes to an old friend's country house in Kartal as a guest. While trying to solve the secret of an old mansion known as Cinli Kösk by the local people, where "even the one who rubs against its walls gets hit", he meets the residents of this house and after a while, he enters this haunted mansion as the groom. Her eldest son visits the grandmother, who has lost her mind with the sadness of losing her grandson, on Friday nights. Moreover, there are other witnesses of this visit. Sevki, who does not believe in fairy tales, begins researching to find out the truth of this story.

In the work, which contains detective elements and is described by Mehmet Kaplan as "A mystery novel based on a curious case," the author keeps the reader's curiosity alive until the last moment. It manages to catch on.

It is definitely one of our first epistolary novels. This short novel, which the author says, "I dedicate it to the woman who will be the mother-in-law of my daughter who will be born after my marriage," is about the endless bride-mother-in-law fights.
