Max Weber-Idea Architects 32
This study, which discusses not only Weber's sociology but also his approaches to science and politics, can be considered as a reference source when it comes to "Weber". In addition, at the end of the study, translations of Weber's works that have not been published anywhere before are also included. To date, Turkish readers have had the opportunity to deal with Max Weber's masterpiece, The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism, and the discussions in the field of sociology of religion that revolve around it. However, Weber's early works, which were influenced by the German Historical School, are not known by many people. Among the translations is Weber's last work, General Economic History. The common point in these works is that Weber includes some statements between the lines of the works about the influence of "material forces" in history. This situation creates a strong perception that Weber's theory carries traces of Marx, albeit implicitly. In this respect, it will be useful for readers who want to evaluate Weber not only with a culturalist and one-dimensional reading, but with different and richer aspects, to take a look at these translations.
