Descartes tries to prove the existence of God and the separateness of the human soul and body in his Thoughts on Metaphysics. It tells the inner journey of a thinker who retreated into seclusion and isolated himself from society with the concern of establishing a solid foundation for the sciences of his period. Descartes acts with a systematic doubt method from the beginning to the end of his work. In other words, he throws aside everything he knows to be true and moves forward by purifying himself from all his prejudices and unfounded beliefs. On the other hand, he tries to prove that a person can doubt everything, but not only his own existence. Although he eventually judges that everything clearly and distinctly perceived is true, he finds that he is still troubled by ingrained doubts about the reliability of the mind. He realizes that he can only be saved from these by contemplating the idea of God, which he finds within himself and therefore believes that it can come from an existing God.
Thoughts on Metaphysics, translated from Latin into Turkish for the first time; It draws the reader into a philosophical inquiry by focusing on the basic concepts of philosophy such as God, soul, mind, mind and existence.
