Merleau-Ponty
Merleau-Ponty is an excellent example for understanding the underlying currents of Contemporary French philosophy. According to the philosopher, today's philosophy can neither align a true idea such as the magnificent classical rationalism with an absolute existence, nor approve of reducing itself to a relativity that would be destructive of truth. Rather, he proposes to think about the emergence of truth on the horizon of finitude and reality. The attempt in question is a slow ascent to the place where the truth and finitude of existence (and even the possibility of philosophy) are fundamentally intertwined. In this selection, it was aimed to describe the axis of Merleau-Ponty's world of thought, which includes questions of non-philosophical fields as well as its relationship with phenomenology. Therefore, the French philosopher's interaction with psychoanalysis, Gestalt psychology, natural sciences and, undoubtedly, painting and cinema was revealed.
