The first edition of the book was presented to readers in 2011 under the name "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children". Ransom Riggs, the author of the book, compiled old photo collections and prepared an interesting fiction and decorated the story with these photographs. The novel reached number 1 on the New York Times Bestseller List. Although it is the author's first novel, it proved that Ransom Riggs is very successful in the fantasy fiction genre.
The book was published in Turkey by "İthaki Publications" under the name "Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children". The Turkish translation of the book was "Aslı Dağlı" and the editor was "Alican Saygı Ortanca".
The events are told through the eyes of the main character, Jacob. Having nightmares about his grandfather's tragic death, Jacob thinks that he is under the influence of the stories his grandfather told about children with strange abilities, so he goes to Wales and wants to find the Weird Children and Miss Peregrine mentioned in the stories. Jacob discovers a time loop full of secrets and dangers and finds himself in a great adventure.
The novel was adapted for the big screen by director "Tim Burton" in 2016. The character of Miss Peregrine in the novel is played by the talented actress "Eva Green".
