In the novel Metres, the French mistress, idiosyncrasy, snobbery, false Westernization, lack of education and the West, which are depicted in the novels of the period, through the types of Müstak and Reyhan. The sad consequences of emulating is explained in a humorous way. Hüseyin Rahmi also talks about philosophy in the novel and conveys his thoughts on education to the reader.
In the edition of the novel Metres, which was first published in 1900, you have the meaning of each of the words that may be considered foreign to today's readers. Translations of French words and sentences are given in the footnotes.
