Three friends were born screaming in the middle of the night, in a village on the Iranian border, leaning on the slopes of Pir Rashid Mountain. They grew up together hunting birds and snakes in deep valleys and riding horses from mountain to mountain. Then the spirit of the time threw each of them somewhere..

One of them fell in love with a girl, left his ancestral lands behind and followed her. During this incurably difficult journey, he encountered death, oppression, poverty and hunger, survived great hardships and experienced terrible things. The other got involved in a blood feud and fled to Istanbul. Istanbul kneaded, changed and transformed not only him but also his bloody followers like dough. The third one went to the mountains and became a guerrilla commander.

Then these three friends returned to the land of their birth. This novel is the story of the departure and return journeys of these three friends. While explaining these, it also holds a mirror to the transition process Turkey is going through. That's why everyone will find something from themselves while reading. After Şehirvan, Özer's second novel is Dağ Pain. The third one, "Honey and Thorns", is on its way.
