As in all branches of science, terms pose an important problem in archeology. In order to resolve this issue, TDK had a study carried out in this field by a commission established by experts, but this study could not be systematically continued and developed later. For this reason, the terms used in our field of science have often been translated from foreign languages or transferred to our language exactly as they are. The fact that the concepts covered by the words are different in various languages and the use of different words for the same concept in various places makes the situation even more inconsistent. However, unless the scope and equivalents of the terms are determined, it is impossible to speak or write the same language, and therefore to understand each other.
