We live in a geography where nationalism appears in different aspects, from personal to social and public, suddenly, spontaneously, in the language of those we are in contact with and directly in our own language, and is a discourse that emerges from the core of institutional power mechanisms and is adopted voluntarily by those who hold institutional power. With the idea that what makes nationalism so contagious is that it includes sexism in different forms and can operate different sexist practices in different historical-political dynamics, beyond recognizing and showing the male face of nationalism, we provide clues about which versions of nationalism the gender regimes encountered throughout the history of the republic in Turkey form the basis. We're trying to present it."
-Simten Cosar - Aylin Özman-
